What was your motivation for moving?

We loved our visit to Pikeville, KY and decided we wanted to live there.

What do you like about Eastern KY?

The peaceful mountains and the people are kindhearted and friendly.

Was our program helpful during the process? How so?

Absolutely, SOAR was an invaluable support because they got us connected!

How? We are a family of 4 so we needed a place to live, get our children transferred into their new school, and get connected to the community. SOAR’s outreach helped us determine eligibility of possible grants options, locate a place to rent, introduce us to our kids School Guidance Counselor, and unite us with our new community.

I’m so thankful for SOAR’s help because it made our move “SO MUCH” easier and prevented us from making costly mistakes. We are now settled in to a new church home, our kids are included and involved in church and school communities, and we have an abundance of new friends.

What advice would you give to someone looking to relocate to Eastern KY?

Get connected with SOAR! They are “REAL PEOPLE THAT HELP WITH REAL ANSWERS”. You can do it on your own, but I don’t recommend it.
