Thinking about moving somewhere that's less... expensive ;) for longer-term financial independence... I am remote/ready and my wife is a physician so I think she'd be able to be hired.

I'm wondering about schools - are they teeny tiny? Or are they big regional schools? Our kids would be fine in either but just curious.

I'm also concerned about the "red state" stuff specifically because we are a 2-mom family with kiddos in elementary + schools and worried that we might not be accepted or the kids wouldn't be allowed to talk about their family in school.
