If you’re thinking about moving to Indiana and your family and friends are giving you skeptical looks, let me be the first to say: go for it!
I made the leap from Las Vegas, NV to Marion County, IN where I spent six wonderful years in the Butler–Tarkington/Broad Ripple area. This vibrant neighborhood is a delightful blend of art, music, and dining, but what I loved most was the sense of connection I felt with the community.
Living there, I had easy access to coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and a variety of arts and events—all within walking distance. The Monon Trail became a favorite spot of mine, where I could walk to work and be greeted by friendly waves and smiles from fellow trail users. It’s an amazing place for running or biking to parks and local businesses. I never realized how much I craved that sense of community until I experienced it in Indiana. You won’t regret making the move!
