Manos Unidas Muncie!

I moved to Muncie from Vallejo California, I currently have just celebrated 6 months in Muncie. I live on the Northside and I'm surrounded by beautiful apple trees, lots of grass for me to go on my sunrise runs.

There's ALOT I've fallen in love with about my community! Today, I stand in Indiana, a stronger version of myself. I'm surrounded by amazing friends, mentors, and a community that embraces my roots. I even started collaborations with the latino community here in Muncie. My group is called "Manos Unidas" meaning hands together, embracing Latino Culture, advocacy, resources and community.

Any advice? Absolutely. Pizza King is FANTASTIC! Visit Common Market, share a great laugh, hear beautiful local music, art and open mic nights. Minnetrista Garden has a farmers market and they sell the best honey from Selma. Please try it! Check out Whats Up Muncie (Group) on Facebook where they share lots of community events etc.

Just do it, opportunities to start over and new horizons present themselves and you know what? Here, amidst the cornfields, I found my voice and my purpose: advocating for immigrants, refugees, and Latino families. Every day, I work with my new community to create a world where starting over means blossoming, not just beginning.
