2 months in, and I'm getting more plugged into Noblesville by the minute.
I came to Noblesville from a small town in Illinois. Noblesville contains infinitely more things to do than what I used to have, and I'm a bit spoiled to have more than one place to shop for groceries. This is a great city if you're wanting either the perks of a small town or the adventures of a city, since it's so close to Indianapolis.
I'm loving how many activities there are in the area. There's a surplus of churches, which helped me to find other like-minded individuals and get plugged into a weekly group with people my age. The first picture above shows a couple I met after moving to Noblesville - they are new Indiana residents as well. We've enjoyed exploring the new area together, but only I get to reap the benefits of MakeMyMove 😉
For housing recommendations, things can be a bit pricy, so I recommend a detailed exploration. Make sure to use the boundaries of MakeMyMove to your advantage - it's quite a wide radius. I live in a fairly expensive rental unit, so I can't speak much to this, but use my missed opportunity to your advantage. There are some nice apartments near the downtown square with closed parking, if you're wanting to be in the thick of a new place, like me.
Absolutely, without a doubt, visit the trails. I'm an avid runner, and have been training for the next marathon - Nickel Plate trail goes on for MILES and is beautiful throughout. Whether you're biking, running, or even skating - it's a joy to explore. It also crosses into Fishers pretty quick. You can find a trail entrance close to you wherever you are in the city.
I've also been able to find weekly pick up basketball. I go to Westfield on Monday nights, and Indianapolis on Wednesday mornings. Noblesville is so close to many places, the fact some things are in different locations isn't an issue.
Now, for the rest of my pictures. The second picture is at Starbucks on Red Cup Day. This happens once a year, and the town I moved from would never have dreamed of having a Starbucks. This is one of the perks not mentioned from MakeMyMove, but is ready when you arrive...
The third picture is from an escape room. Once again, there's a HUGE amount of things to do both in and near Noblesville. If you're bored, well...
The last picture is from my friend and I the day before the Indianapolis marathon. Because Noblesville is so close to the city, I had friends come and stay with me to run the marathon together.
None of these things would have been as possible or as joyful without MakeMyMove. If you're debating whether to make the move... hear it from me: it's worth it. With MakeMyMove, it's that much more rewarding.
