As transplants from the East Coast, one thing we love about living in this region is proximity to Lake Michigan. The sandy beaches, waves, views, and quaint towns remind us of the ocean and make it feel like we are really "getting away" when we are less than an hour from home! 

We go up for an evening or day at the beach many times each summer, often meeting up with other families and staying until sunset, then stopping for ice cream on our way back to our home in South Bend. This picture is from Labor Day weekend 2023. Frequent beach trips were just something we never expected when we moved here eleven years ago!
