Champion Southern Magnolia Tree - Old Washington Historic Park

Old Historic Washington State Park is another great place to expore, and only a short distance from Texarkana. There is a century old Southern Magnolia tree that's also a champion (one of the largest in it's species). It's absolutely stunning! The park is a historic park that preserves what life would have been like in the mid to late 1800's. There is a blacksmith shop and the legendary Bowie knife was first constructed in this area as well. On the fourth of July, every year, there is a reading of the Declaration of Independence from the historic courthouse.
