A really neat thing about living in Texarkana, Tx are all of the amazing things to do within a two hour drive. The Ouachita Mountains in central Arkansas have some of the richest quartz crystal veins in the world! It's said to be second only to Brazil. There are many crystal mines that are open to the public and one of our favorites is Ron Coleman Crystal Mine in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It's a great place for families and rockhounding enthusiasts of all ages. It's actually more fun than the diamond mine, in our opinion, because you will definitely come away with some treasures!
