There is a great state park about 20 minutes north of Texarkana, in Ashdown, Arkansas. Millwood Lake State Park sits on the southern part of Millwood Lake. It has 45 campsites, a boat ramp, a playground, picnic sites and more. The lake is almost 30,000 acres and features great bass fishing. It's also a great place for birdwatching and there are two hiking trails to enjoy too. The Arkansas State Park s have a free passport program to collect stamps, which you can pick up at the visitor center or the marina. The marina also has boats and kayaks to rent.
