Sherman is the county seat of Grayson County, Texas. The city is named after General Sidney Sherman, who played a major role in the Texas Revolution. During the battle of San Jacinto, Sherman led his men while reciting the famous battle-cry, “Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad!”
